It's easy to forget... people act in ways that make sense to them.
That doesn't mean that stupid behavior is really excusable... it's just a lot easier to show grace when you understand the frustration that a lot of stupidity is generated from haha.

Somebody wanna summarize why Cizrek sucks so much? I skimmed his posts and didn't find anything egregious. I preemptively repeat that I didn't read either of the threads beyond the first couple posts and don't really desire too.
Points I think he's trying to make:
Debt In Knowledge was hyped in a huge way. Over-hyped if you will. End of the day it's still a yo-yo video, albeit a good one. There are many good yo-yo videos.
The community perspective of the GT has taken a hilarious 180 degree turn. I saw someone say how he was already seeing more green triangles because of the GT project. This may not have been a conscious motive of Spencer, but a byproduct of his site/video nonetheless.
Are those points really debatable? Thoughts please.

CizreK is very isolated from the rest of the yo-yo community, and has somewhat disagreeable views on things with the rest of yo-yoers. As he mentioned, which I only partially would agree with, Debt in Knowledge was hyped up. If someone with no name on the forums had made it, I doubt it would have gotten the same recognition that it did. Not saying the tricks weren't amazing, but having "Spencer Berry" printed on a video automatically moves it to the top of the list.
Because of his isolation, he's not subjected to the same sort of hype as everyone else, and has very "pure" views on things. He's had very limited exposure to other yo-yoers, apart from the internet, he's only ever been to Worlds, and has never competed, and has developed his own external views on things, instead of "joining the crowd."
Yuuki mentioned a few posts back how he's always been following JD around. Not many know this, but CizreK actually owns the first ever X-Con that left the factory. He made a video, either advertising for the Hitman or Lyn Fury, and JD apparently liked it very much, thanked him, and gave him a preproduction X-Con in return. I don't want to speak for CizreK, but JD is probably the only legitimate yo-yoer that has reached out to him. If that happened anyone, they'd probably follow JD around too. Especially when everyone else is always hating him.
I just went back and reread through the entire thread at YYN.
In all honesty, David, shut the hell up. CizreK's reputation may be completely ruined. If so, you'll be burning in Hell with him.
Shepherd doesn't tell me a story. I'm not saying it is a bad trick, I'm just saying that I can not relate it to a piece of literature. I think it is amazing. I doubt I will ever have the skills to make a trick half as good as it, set aside performing it. So I can't find the story in Shepherd. Does that mean that I am a terrible yo-yoer who will fail for all eternity in every possible way? Although it may be true, my inability to relate yo-yo tricks and literature will not be the cause.

That doesn't give you the right to be such a dick. You've gotten yourself into a situation that you're not really involved in to begin with, and you've taken the "evil bastard" position, without reason. What has CizreK ever done to you? He doesn't praise Debt in Knowledge in the same way as you? Is that it? You worthless bastard. That's like saying "Because you don't believe in my God, you are going to Hell."
When you do something for the community worth noting, please let me know. CizreK made a whole box of t-shirts for Worlds, only 5 people bought them. He's made over a hundred and fifty videos, and works his ass off for every single one of them, and hardly anyone watches them.

i told people countless times....few will understand.... and people (when i say people i mean zamstrom and kyrok) just got pissed at me. yes to the untrained eye it just looks like a bunch of 1.5's and buckets, ect ect but to those of us that can see he dose 5 string rejections in 1 trick, and they ALL have a purpose, there just not rejecting...all his tricks have a begining, middle, and end...he dose a REAL lasceration and it lascerates straight...know how insanely epic it is....i, guess?

Hmm... fine, CizreK is isolated from the yo-yo community, I'll agree with that. So are a lot of other people, but they don't act like complete assholes on the forum, and then whine about how everyone hates them because they're an asshole. I don't give a rat's ass about how good of a yo-yoer you are, or what you think about another person's tricks, all I care about is how you convey your opinions. I'd rather you say "In my opinion, Debt in Knowledge is over hyped", instead of, "THE TRICKS ARE SO BASIC AND SIMPLE YOU GUYS ARE ALL FANBOYS". If that makes me a worthless bastard, that's fine with me.
I don't think I have done anything worth noting, and I probably never will. Sure, he works his ass off for his videos, but do his videos showcase any new concepts? No. His 150+ videos are not worth noting. Maybe the fact that people don't like his tricks is why they don't watch them? That makes sense, doesn't it?

After reading tabs post i would like to throw down some thoughs.
Just because spencers name is on it dosent mean shit. I think most of jakes videos minus the last few hes released are shitty. i told him that, he knows it. In fact, if some no name kid released that video, i would go 5 times more apeshit because someone can come out of fucking no where and just hit us with an epic vid.His isolation from the community dosent excuse his ignorance. He's a fucking bigot, then he wonders why everyone hates him. Its ok to say that you dislike something or that you dont understand it, but when you bring it to the level of fucking walk the dog, then its just insulting. If you dont know your history on something you "love to do" then its hard to argue anything.
lol, when david says sheppard tells a story, he means the format of the trick is similar to how a story is formed. It has a begining, middle, and end. Worthless bastard is kinda harsh, but if thats the way you feel, lol.
I cant really say what david has done that is significant for the community (besides create amazoooong tricks), but just because will pressed some t-shirts, and made some videos dosent mean he has either. I personally really liked his Pyro and g&e 2 videos, not many of his others though.
i think the video diserved all the hype it was given and all the future views it will recieve. Truely insperational video, and even more impressive that spencer caught any of his own tricks on film.

the primary reason that this guy is "isolated" is because he's already "ruined his [own] reputation" on every other board i've seen him on.
if the primary mode by which you communicate with other yo-yoers is a message board (and you CARE about communicating with yo-yoers), then you probably shouldn't repeatedly FLY OFF THE HANDLE on said message boards.
what gets me about the guy is NOT that he doesn't like debt in knowledge. it's not even that he seems to feel so utterly superior. what kills me is the fact that he's PERPETUALLY WHINING. this whole "no one respects me or loves my vids or buys my t-shirts" line is just ridiculous. he just doesn't seem to realize that there's a correlation between one's behavior and the manner in which one is treated/respected.
he clearly takes yo-yoing very seriously and very personally. too bad i've only rarely seen him communicate that investment in anything approximating a positive manner.
oh, and fuck you guys and your lame-ass stickers. i have a squishy my little pony sticker on my laptop right where my palm touches. it's ergoNOMic, bitches!

Cizrek's only fault in my mind is that he has no concept of relevance.
His hating on Debt is about as relevant as me hating on him naming the "red triangle". It just doesn't matter. Who gives a fuck, really. We are not a community because of the hate we show each other, but because of the love.
Just because Cizrek is the ugly duckling of the yoyo world doesn't mean he will magically grow into a beautiful swan - you still have to work to build something people care about, something that is relevant (to you, or your audience, or - rarely - both). I hope that he will have the insight to realize one day that he can get more attention and love by learning the value of being humble.
I am glad that there are people out there who so passionately hate my yoyoing and the hype surrounding it that they feel the need to lash out. Amen to passion.

I would take his argument more seriously if he didn't continuously compare yo-yoing to gay astrojax. I've heard him say that he doesn't freestyle because no one will ever sponsor him. True or not it is still a bad attitude to have and a horrible excuse not to go to contests. After 150 videos he should realize that not everyone is going to like his style or tricks like he expects. I know David worked hard on his video. The difference being that David has tricks with content and are overall just better(IMO). Davids one video got him 2 sponsorships that I know he was not expecting.
In the end i believe he is in it for the wrong things. He wants fame and glory and to looked up to by other players when you should be yo-yoing for yourself no matter what others think.

I think it's a stunning 150+ video story arc and I don't appreciate your guys' lack of respect for the poetic mastermind that is Will Kerzic.
They're about dot to dots with all the numbers out of order.
In all seriousness, I find him oppressive online, but he's seemed fairly cool when I've talked to him at worlds. =o)
