If you dont remember back a year and 1/2 ago let me refresh your memory. Since then a few things have happened with Yomega: They tried to release an Aluminum yo-yo called the Blazer, its basically a mediocre aluminum yo-yo with shitty “graphics” and a super problematic (and probably patent infringing) response system. Next they decided not to sponsor any yo-yo contests (thats what i hear through the grapevine). So then, since they obviously don’t want to support anything us “Knuckle Dragging” yo-yoers are involved it, they pulled there sponsorship of there team, without telling them.
So now, they want to sell you cheep aluminum, low cost, AMERICAN MADE, Yo-Yos. O and the product line for these is called “Rhody-o”. What the fuck are they thinking?
First, The Maverick. Another Blazer-esque yo-yo. Same poor graphic detailing, new “super smooth rubber return system”.
The Next one looks a little better, thanks to Ouch doing the graphics. The anodizing sounds like of interested also, but with Yomega’s long line of gimmicky let downs, I’m not holding my breath.
So what are you trying to do here Alan? Now that you’ve made every yo-yoer “with some experience” upset at you and your sub-par products, your trying to sell us more junk? O and hire Ouch to do all your graphics fron now on. Not to mention your names for yo-yoers make them as gimmicky as your write up’s on your site. If Yomega is gearing up for some “new boom”, awesome, the more kids they get into yo-yoing the more kids will learn that all the “cool kids” despise Yomega products. Its still win-win. Thanks Alan.

I may come across as a yomega hater from time to time (I am going to pretend the worlds thing didnt even happen) but they did produce some of the most important yo-yos to my development as a player and i do still collect their stuff from this period. what upsets me is the position they are in to do fantastic things and their inability to take advantage of this. My love turned to loathe around the wingforce, then the metallic missle, Rev-rim, xodous, then the fixed bearing raiders… with all these products Yomega could have revolutionized yo-yo but they just put out dog after dog. Obviously they were too smart to listen to anyone with an idea and too dumb to seek licensing any good ideas.
When they cant compete on technology (which their brand was based on) they turn to price and if they think they can win a price war with the chinese they are already dead to me.
They named a yo-yo after my son?
They must really love me.
Yomega = Fail
Especially the way they treat real players, they should just disappear.
They won’t, though. Too bad their money doesn’t come from their yoyo sales. Then they finally would dissapear. Can’t blame a guy for dreaming.
We should stage an all-out boycott. Maybe then they’d get the hint. Then again, Alan would probably keep making shit wheels just because the insane spite monkey in his head told him to.
