Aurora Who?
Mar 11th, 2008 by tyler
Incase you though SWAY was all talk, here is a proto of thier yoyo Aurora.

64 grams, dual deep recess pad (able to accept silicone), large bearing, with the coating being unknown at this point.

In comparions with a Bear vs Man, and Project. Taken straight from bpcyo’s post:
“This is the CRAZYSMOOTHEST throw Ive experienced - its noctu level smooth. It is hand satined by us so it grinds real nice.
The gap is wide so that is the reason we think Kentaros will be better than silicone but it will take sili if youd like to do it.
The axle system is stainless and I think it more resembles a project than Buzzon but whatev. The coating we will use will be a hair different, this is a first pass - they will be similar to this but different colors. We want to pull it farther away from Caribou’s splattercoating.”
And then there is this little tib-bit of info “We still cant release manufacturing info because we are attempting to get a patent - but as soon as we have it locked up we will post it.”
Excited to see what stems from that.
The only real problem I see anyone having with this yoyo is the axle system. It is similar to that of a Buzzon yoyo like Bryan said in the above quote. For me personally not that much of a problem, but for other’s who knows.
I started reading the SWAY brothers posts on the boards a few monthes back thinking they were just two brats running around with mommy and daddys money. But after meeting them at MASS states, they really have thier shit together and I expect great things out of them.

this yoyo sure looks great! bu what is sway? do they have a website or something?
find them on the yyn forum
it really isn’t my tub of butter… I think that the finish looks awful, and I hate the shape for some reason although I’ll concede to the fact that it looks like it will play like a beast- which MIGHT be enough to convince me to pick one up (at a reasonable price). I like how the body angles away right at the end of the response. I really hate Buzz-on’s response system, though… and it’s SO ugly.
It’s like an all plastic DV8.
This looks like a furph yo. I think it looks like crap.
I’m not entirely sure how “CRAZYSMOOTHEST throw ever” goes with hex nut assembly and hand satin but we’ll see.
Hi Guys
Tyler thanks for posting this - your the man.
Just a few clarifications -
This finish is a test just to see if we could do it. More are coming that will be better. The Hex Nut Axle is ONLY for the proto - Im building a few now that will have threaded axels but if it doesnt play as good or is even slightly hard to tune I will use the same axle system as the OneDrop boys. Hopefully the more people see it the more they like it - It plays like a beast and is only at 64 grams - I want it heavier for me but weve gotten alot of feedback from people that 64 is the sweet spot right now.
Last thing - This yoyo is actually called the Z. The Aurora is our other yoyo we are working on - That is an aluminum H shaped 71 gram MONSTER!
Our website will be up soon check it out when it goes up.
Thanks
B
One other thing I forgot
The hand satin thing is just us with a small ‘lathe’ doing all the work
by hand - we will be hand finishing and building every single one to test them and ensure they all roll nice and silky smooth.
you mispelled “thought” in the first sentence :O
the paint is a little messy. as smooth as the word “sway” is, i feel it’d be best if the yo was just white or some other uncommon solid colors.
misspelled*
silly me
Tyler, do they not teach you to write in DE?
I said that I hate Buzzon-s response. I meant the axle system. Good to hear that you’re considering the 1-drop setup- I’m a fan.
I’d just like to say that Tyler is the man, now onto business. Some people said they didnt like the finish, we will have a few different ones, flat colors, splatter, who knows. The axle system like Bryan said is being tweeked a little it was a proto but still played really smooth. As for the people nay saying we know that we cant please everyone, BUT we know we arnt going to be the next yoyofactory, we dont claim to be either. We are just two yoyo nerds making good yoyos for other yoyo nerds like us. We are serious in making good yoyos but we are all about the goofin around too so expect good things, but most of the time expect them to be silly as well.
oooooh…
looks like fun!
Sweet, I can go tell Hans we are now more than “two yoyo nerds making good yoyos for other yoyo nerds like us”.
Haha, thats funny yyf Ben. Anyway, i gotta say im impressed with the yo-yo. I think the finish is ok, but if it was more even, id be damn fine. Keep it up guys.
Stupid question, but what is it made of?
I think the material is what the patent is all about.
Does it fall into the metal or the plastic category?
Or is it something never before seen?
Definetly something never used before, thats why we are waiting on our patents.
The shadiness intrigues me. When will the patent be finalized and you can tell us?
called the Z
looks shweeet
The Z is coming - and I can’t wait…!
I can see this will be THE yoyo for which everyone will measure other yoyos against.
‘CRAZYSMOOTHEST’ is the only way to describe it….
And the SplatterYack coating is just super dope cool.
This a a Z not a aurora…..

Team Sway
no one knows what its called, but its smoothness is best described by a word that doesn’t exist and it has been compared to a yo-yo few people have! WOO HOO! i shit my pants with excitement
Looks like my toilet bowl after bad mexican.
Wow that is the ugliest piece of **** I’ve ever seen.
