The Plug in 2 i played with a few years ago blew my mind. It is, to me, THE unsung hero of aluminum yo-yos. amazing balance and tolerance. I heard rumor that it was machined at the same shop as the Oxy was? It would make sense.

Looks like they are using Shmoove rings inside the yo-yo.

I’m glad they took the nipple down a bit. that was one thing, when thumb grinding with the Plug In, the nipple could some times get in the way.

Glad to see they have also kept the shape about the same. Something about the shapes the Italians use, it just feels so damn good in the hand. Well, except for the Roo.

I know it’s easy to give someone shit about a shape, but…
Is it just me, or does that look almost exactly the same shape as a Freehand Zero?
It does look pretty damn close, the outer hub looks a little rounder, but it does look real close. I’ve always like the plugin. I haven’t owned one personally, but I have always thought it was a pretty rad player.
Steve, did you actually just ask that? Do you realize how many yo-yos before now have used the general Freehand shape?
On the Plug-in3, I’d love to try one, but I’m not very motivated to get my hands on one.
Hi there.
Just to clurify two things:
- our yoyos are not made by the same firm which produces Oxy Yoyos. Different suppliers.
- as for the shape, as I said also somewhere else, we’ve kept the old external curve of the yoyo half: it is the same shape and the same size as the old one. Which means, like for the old Plug-In, a round shape design (like FH1, Oxy4)… something which, in our opinion, is the classic evergreen shape, the most natural and balanced.
Even if the yoyo may seem simple, due to its classic design, we worked hard on the inner curve of the yoyo half which is the one that gives the Plug-In his true character: the external appearance may seems simple and maybe also similar to other yoyos, but the mass distribution of the alluminium is our own and unique.
Merry Christmas!
Well, I asked because I’ve never thrown a Plug-In, and when I opened up the page I totally thought this was going to be about someone modding an MG or something…it really did look that similar to me.
I figured if anyone was going to roll with curves so close to the FH, they would have made the yo-yo just a bit wider…the width was always the one thing about the FH I never felt I got right.
Beyond these pics, I know fuck-all about the Plug In, so I’m not bashing it in any way. Could be great, I have no idea. Just commenting on what leapt to mind when I saw the pics.
Reminds me of an air rider
you mean free rider, which is also base on the FH. You can actually use FH caps with the free rider. looks pretty cool.
sorry, I did mean free rider.
All hail Kong

Well, Steve, I think you’ll be happy to know that we had the same feelings as you.
Diameter: 54 mm
Width: 41 mm
Gap: 4,15 mm
That means, lager width, smaller diameter and lot of more rim-weight than a FH1… that is to say, just like the old Plug-In (which came out something like 4 years ago…).
As for the original Plug-In shape, we only modified the diameter slightly and re-designed the internal curve as a consequence.

This is a blog, dipshit. The point is to collect pertinent news from all over, and put it in one place. They posted TheYo.com as their source in the first line.
Learn how the internet works, then come back later. Right now, the grownups are talking. Back to the kids table with you.

The Plug-in’s shape is very similar to the Oxy 4’s shape, if you’ve ever played one of those. Much more comfortable than a Freehand.
I like it, in spit of any possible resemblance. All yoyos look like Duncan “Butterfly”, don’t give him a hard time.
Go neighbours!
I got a pair of Plug-ins 3… I like ‘em very much!
Thanks to Brokenyoyos, you rock guys!
See you
Bonzo (proud to have Sumo and Plug-in 3)
i have a plug in 3 and it is crazy. way smoother than my othe yoyo’s.
it also has less friction when sleeping and feels like the yoyo lands on the strings so soft. the red silicone binds tight.definitely one of my favourites. not bad looking neither. biggup brokenyoyo’s.
