David has it figured out. responsive play demands smoothness. players who learn unresponsive and never challenge themselves with a responsive yoyo will never achieve the same level of smoothness. i remember back in the day of double friction stickers when it was a joy to simply slide a yoyo back and fourth on a trapeze, testing the smoothness of the motion.

I just think it’s funny how both of us used MF Doom for our videos. But definitely, Juneau and Sterling are amazing.
