You saw it here first folks! The Yuuki Edition 888. By far the best looking of any of the very elegant 888s

Can’t wait to get one… and see better pictures of the art!

*EDIT* Thanks to Ben for posting some bigger pictures of the YuukiQuake 888

Yoyoing.com and the board will be down till some time tomorrow according to Greg. But it’s cool, once its back it will be bigger and faster, thanks to a terabyte of storage! This will allow better viewing of the video site also.

The video site wont be fully functioning for a few days. You’ll be able to upload videos, but not view them till the site is all back together.

yo-yo.org services will be back in about a week.

Looks like Yo-Yo Jam is jumping on the hub stack band wagon. From what I understand a large sized bearing fits over the nipple. Then you buy a “Sprokit”… which are there fancy names for hub stacks, only after you buy the bearings to go with it.

Now for some fun rumors about these…

1. the sprokits wobble.
2. the nipples STILL break easy, even after more plastic has been added to the area.
3. there new “more stable” plastic still cracks and wobbles.

Just rumors mind you. Anyone have any experience with either?

Yomega Blazer

READ THIS first… if you need any more convincing NOT to buy this yo-yo, read on…

Found some interesting pics on Spin Gear of the Yomega Blazer…
What a shitty idea for response…

The Bearing also looks odd. Guess Yomega didn’t want anyone to be able to put a KK or other bearing in here. Not that anyone IS going to buy these after all the ridiculous things they said about us “Knuckle Draggers”

Horrible look. No attention to visual elements. The dots look like they’d fall out after a few times with trying to tune the response. And plus its only $90! It’s nice that suck a large company that has already outsourcer there yo-yos to china couldn’t find a better deal on making aluminum yo-yos like there “competitors” Duncan and Yo-Yo Factory… guess it costs them twice as much to do the same thing, worse?

The first pictures of the BSP have been released by Jake of the Anti-Yo crew. Titanium never looked so sweet…

As promised, a new axle system is being used for the BPS. This new axle set up uses a screw on both sides to hold the axle sleeve in place which in turn keeps the axle centered, which means no tinkering with the axle to get it to spin perfect!

The shape is pretty interesting. Following in a trend of angles over curves, looks pretty nice. The BSP will be in the $350 range, and about 150 will be made. They will come with duel toned sides with a special surprise coating.

Nate just dropped me an email with some pretty dope stuff in it….

The Shurinken is Throwdown’s new mini yo-yo. It is 1.65″ tall and 1.16″ wide, uses a Dif-e-Yo konkave bearing, and dif pads.

And… its made of steel! But the fun doesn’t stop there, final runs will have a maganese phosphate coating. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fucking awesome!

Throwdown also mentioned a yo-yo there calling the Lucha Lebre, it was described as a delrin Luchador? sounds pretty neat. No other info on that, but stay tuned, Nate has PROMISED us a first look at it in weeks to come.

It may be a little corny to post this, but i think it’s something we all need to be reminded of. Last week I got 2 packages. One from Infinite Illusions, and one from Duncan Toys. My 2 FORMER sponsors fyi. Now, these are two companies that I’ve worked for and we’ve had our ups and downs.

In the package from Duncan was a nice new Metal Zero. When i was with Duncan all i got were the old shitty MFH’s. The new one plays infinitely better and just plain FEELS better. Better metal. Better design. And a much better recess. Now, Duncan didn’t have to send the Metal Zero to me. They didn’t own it to me, Mike Burke over at Duncan sent it just for kicks. Just to see what i thought of it. Thats awesome!

The second package, from Yo-Yo Guy, was a real surprise. Upon opening the package i found a set of new Vapor pads, a size C beefcake Kit and TWO Silks (a black and a white). I had mentioned a while ago to Greg that my prototype Silk he had given to me, while on his team, at Nationals was broken. Not really expecting a replacement, but hoping I might get one some day. But getting 2 Silks and the other shwag was above and beyond what I was expecting.

It’s nice to see that in yo-yoing, people get along. Even people who have butted heads. Thank you both for the packages.

Red 888 OK, file this under shameless commerce. Benny was kind enough to send us a batch of red 888’s to sell at MAR, and we still have some left. I’m not sure if this is the beginning of a new run, or just a small run of red, but I think we have the only ones released yet. They are large bearing, silicone response 888’s. The only time I’ve seen red was as half of the Cinqo de Mayo 888. Buy one here

Also, FYI, Benny sent us a ‘Cherry’ small-bearing 888 that we gave to the winner of the 1A Division. I haven’t seen this one before – it was red as well, but had a pair of cherries inscribed on the side of the yo-yo. I’m assuming this is for the new YoYoFactory team member from Russia, Igor “Cherry” Vishnyakov.
