I’ve been a little behind

First. Don’t worry. The yoyo2.com forum will back soon enough. Harper is getting over a bad cold and up to his neck in work.
Now, for new releases:
Yo-Yo Factory: Grind Machine2

Has dropped at most online stores, and is selling out fast. A wider-profile version of the G5 with a slicker-than-snot coating.
Throw Down: Luchador

We haven’t posted much about this yo-yo…mainly because there hasn’t been much information about it. What struck me about this yo-yo was the concept of the shape. When I was handed an early proto of this yo-yo to play I was asked, “What would you change”. After playing with it a bit about the only thing I didn’t dig was the shape.

As you can see. The shape consists of very straight lines. And some gnarly edges. But when I commented on the shape, Nate simply said, “No way. That’s what I designed the yo-yo around!” Hells YES. I am a firm believer in designers making do yo-yos with their aesthetics in mind, not something that “everyone will hype and love and BUY”. The logo and laser engraving is very cool. Looking forward to playing more with this one. Look for this one at most of the online stores.
Roo-Yo: Kaizen

Roo-Yo has always been one for trying new things. Their SV series had small dimples in it, similar to a golf ball. The newest Roo-Yo is only available at Yo-Yo Nation. The same neat o-ring hump response… or S.I.D.R.O.M. response has a nice smooth play. Italian metal rarely disappoints.
For full specs and pics of these new yo-yos, check out this nifty feature at Yo-Yo Nation.
